Short, and meant to be read.
One account per person
An address is issued to a person, not to a session. Creating additional accounts to get around limits — using another browser, another network or a cleared browser profile — is not permitted, and the service takes technical measures to prevent it. If you genuinely need a second address, use one of the five aliases that come with your account, or ask.
Acceptable use
Do not use Mailbirch to send unsolicited bulk mail, to phish, to distribute malware, to harass anybody, or to break the law of your country or ours. Do not attempt to gain access to accounts that are not yours, and do not attack the service or anything else from it.
Sending limits
Accounts may address 200 recipients per 24 hours. Messages are limited to roughly 50 MB and attachments to 25 MB. These limits exist to keep the domain's reputation intact for everybody using it.
Accounts we close
Accounts used for spam, fraud or abuse are closed without notice, because leaving them open damages mail delivery for every other address on the domain. Where the situation is ambiguous we will write to you first.
What the service promises
Mailbirch is provided as is and free of charge. It is operated carefully — mail is stored on redundant hardware, configuration and the account directory are backed up nightly, and certificates renew automatically — but no free service can promise perfect availability, and you should not rely on it as the only copy of anything irreplaceable. Keep a local copy of mail that matters; IMAP makes that easy.
Ending it
You can ask for your account and its mail to be deleted at any time. We may discontinue the service, in which case you will be given reasonable notice and time to move your mail out over IMAP.
